The best place to start when choosing a wedding location is determining the size of your wedding. Are you having an intimate event with a dozen guests or something bigger? Beach weddings are suitable for parties of 25 or smaller. While the typical Maui wedding is a small beach wedding, some couples choose to have rather large events including as many friends and family members as possible. In those instances you may want to consider holding your big day at an estate, plantation or hotel since those types of locations can accommodate larger groups.

Plantation owners live in beautiful homes located on sprawling estates, which are also hot spots for Maui weddings. In fact, some estates allow wedding guests to stay in the multi-bedroom homes overnight — talk about a unique aspect of a wedding! Many Maui estates can accommodate up to 500 guests.

There is no rental fee for the ceremony and reception but there is a food and beverage minimum applied to all events, starting at $2,500 if you buyout the restaurant, otherwise there is no food and beverage minimum required. You will only be charged for the food and beverage ordered. The venue allows for 2.5 hours of event time at dinner events and 2 hours at breakfast and lunch events. Oneloa Beach (also known as Ironwoods Beach) is a gorgeous quiet stretch of shoreline located in the northern portion of West Maui between Kapalua and Napili. This is a nice, quiet, uncrowded, and romantic beach. It is surrounded by private property so it is near several private residences. Evening walks are wonderful along this beach, which make sunset weddings desirable. There is plenty of room to play and a great view of Molokai. The beach itself is wide and sandy. This completely unique venue, the Old Lahaina Prison, was built in 1852. The walls surrounding this historic site are built of coral and is where rowdy sailors who failed to return to their ships at sundown were kept.
